What is Tenmokku? A traditional glaze originating from the precious lands of Japan, a name given to a beautiful high-gloss black/brown glaze, now used all over the world. One of the most beautiful glazes to ever have been made.

These irregular and organically shaped plates are hand-built by the artist with slabs of clay. Their size is somewhere between a quarter plate and a full-size dinner plate. There are no measurements involved while making these plates or an electric wheel. They are stunning, quirky pieces suitable for eclectic homes, for the lover of contemporary ceramics. The top part of the plate is glazed in a beautiful mottled, high-gloss black/brown Tenmokku glaze while the bottoms are left untouched and expose the beautiful colour of fired stoneware clay.
